Wine Country & Bay Area

Healdsburg is a quaint town just north of Sonoma and we were happy to visit Sarah and her family at Bishop's Ranch. We stayed at the Webb Cottages and had a scenic view of the hills.

On Friday morning, we ventured out and hiked the Lake Trail which took a little over an hour.
As we hiked along, we saw cows, deer, birds and lizards on the trail.
Westside Road has many vineyards and wineries. This old, rustic barn was a photo moment where we just stopped the car to capture the image.
That afternoon, we drove down to Sonoma and ate at an Italian restaurant where Rachel Ray supposedly recommended. The setting was perfect out in the courtyard off the main road. The Insalata Caprese was fabulous!
Our nieces, Kiely & Mia.

We also visited Train Town and took the ride around the park.
The train stops at a mini "Wild West" where's there's a petting zoo with goats and llamas, just waiting to be fed.
Russ helps Kiely feed the baby goats.
The infamous Golden Gate bridge on a gorgeous sunny day.
The San Francisco Costco carries our favorite Newton Chardonnay, dungeoness crab, fresh salmon and asparagus. My favorite meal!

On Saturday night, we visited Cousin Nicoll, her friend, Laura and their dog, Tanner.
Nicoll is a great cook. She made chicken cordon bleu, salad and ice cream with fresh berries. Laura made a fantastic rice dish. Thank you both for a nice evening!
