Marathon Bike Ride

On Saturday, a few of us decided to ride a new trail we've been working on for a couple weeks. Over the last year Saipan has opened up with miles of great hiking and biking trails. We started at 7am and finished at 12 noon. The sport of mountain biking is really growing here. We had 14 riders join us for this ride.

Yosh and Steve in a tight race up the hill. Come boys! It's still early!

Jake dropping into a difficult section on the Japan Town Trail.

We found a coconut crab. It was a small one. In a couple years, it'll be good eating!

In a five hour ride and 14 guys, you are bound to have a few breakdowns, and we did. Broken chains, and derailers...all part of the fun.
All smiles as we ride this new trail for the first time! We just need to name it.

What?! My new 29er broken!? Darn stick jumped into my derailleur, but luckily I was able to continue.
The boys hiking the first section. Can someone say bridge! After you say that, can you tell me how to build one?
Thank guys for a memorable day! You guys rock!

Sweet trails, love seeing the MTB thing growing over there. I broke my derailleur hanger in Arizona on the last day as well!
